YG is gearing up to hit the road in support of his forthcoming mixtape, Just Re’d Up 3.

The tape, for which the rapper has released the single “Knocka,” is set to be released in July.

To support the project, YG announced Just Re’d Up: The Tour in an Instagram post on Monday (May 20).

Along with supporting acts Doe Boy and DJ Vision, the 21-date trek will kick off on June 25 in the “Big Bank” rapper’s hometown of LA and make its way through Seattle, Denver, Boston and more before wrapping in Hawaii in August.

When it comes to his past albums, YG doesn’t feel quite the same way as a large portion of his fan base. While his 2016 release Still Brazy may be one of the most acclaimed entries in his catalog, the rapper himself doesn’t hold it in such high regard.

During a chat with fellow West Coast MC ScHoolboy Q on a recent episode of his 4HUNNID Podcast, YG came clean about having mixed feelings toward his sophomore LP.

“I fuck with certain parts of it, but you gotta understand—” he said, before Q interjected: “Oh my God! That shit is so hard!”

He continued: “I was in a dark-ass place when I made that album. My album wasn’t even supposed to sound like that. I started recording that album right around the time I got shot.

“I was just going through all that shit. And then I fell out with the homies. N-gga, I was in a dark-ass place. I had my newborn daughter but it was just dark.

“I was making shit that I didn’t even wanna … I was trying to be on some other shit but it wasn’t there. So I had to do the dark shit.”

The Southern California spitter concluded by saying that he “respects” Still Brazy but doesn’t believe it was an authentic reflection of his function-friendly personality.
