Melanie Chisholm has officially entered a new partnership with Virgin Music Group.
The 51-year-old Spice Girls member and her independent label Red Girl Records have joined forces with Virgin in preparation for the launch of her upcoming single Sweat.
In a statement, she shared: “I’m thrilled to be releasing my new music with Virgin Music Group. It feels like a homecoming after the successes we shared working together with Spice Girls and my first two solo albums. They are paving the way for more artist-led deals and have an incredibly strong international team. I’m really excited to see what we can achieve together.”
Vanessa Bosaen, President of Virgin Music Group UK, expressed her excitement about the collaboration and said: “Melanie is such a unique force of nature who is on the verge of another exciting chapter in an illustrious career. She captivates the heart of everyone she meets and we are thrilled to welcome her into the Virgin Music Group family. We look forward to working alongside her and her team to bring her intoxicating vision to life.”
Melanie is preparing to release her ninth studio record, also named Sweat, which is scheduled to arrive in 2026.
Meanwhile, news recently surfaced that the Spice Girls are coming together again for an upcoming animated project centered on the group.
The production, titled The Spice Girls, will be the band’s first major collaboration since they performed at the 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony.
According to IMDb, The Spice Girls is in the early stages of production and will include all five original members: Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown, Melanie C, and Emma Bunton, who will be lending their voices to the project.
The official description states: “An animated project featuring the music group The Spice Girls as super heroes.”
Further details about the storyline, format, and release schedule are still being kept secret, though IMDb confirms that the group will once again step into their iconic roles as Posh, Ginger, Scary, Sporty, and Baby Spice.
