Brother and sister duo The Molotovs took over the Electric Ballroom in Camden last night with a sold-out headline performance that was loud, charged, and full of energy. The show comes as the band prepares to chase their third straight UK No. 1 physical single with the upcoming release of ‘Rhythm Of Yourself’.

The group, made up of 17-year-old Mathew Cartlidge and 19-year-old Issey Cartlidge, will drop the new song on 31 October through Marshall Records. The track, a fierce mix of early ‘80s Jam, Favourite Worst Nightmare-era Arctic Monkeys and Sex Pistols influences, was produced by Jason Perry. Its B-side, ‘Johnny Don’t Be Scared’, was recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studios, adding another layer of rock heritage to the release.

Fans inside the packed Electric Ballroom were treated to a high-intensity hour of music that showed exactly why The Molotovs are earning their reputation as a powerful live act. The setlist blended debut songs like ‘Urbia’ and ‘My Metallic Wife’ with fan favourites, all of which are set to appear on their debut album, Wasted On Youth, arriving on 30 January 2026. Among the crowd was musician James McCartney, who also released his new track ‘Heaven’ on the same day.

Frontman Matt Cartlidge, dressed sharply in an Adam of London suit, took a moment to thank the crowd, calling it “an amazing night to remember” before confirming that the band will be joining Palaye Royale on tour next.

Bassist Issey Cartlidge, wearing a custom Solene Lescouet-designed Union Jack dress, shared a message of unity from the stage: “We must reject cultural pessimism, reject division, intolerance and hate, and embrace togetherness in its place. We believe the answer to the question ‘Is There Any Hope?’ is absolutely ‘yes’.”

Since 2020, The Molotovs have played more than 600 shows and performed alongside legendary acts including The Libertines, Sex Pistols, and Blondie, carving out an impressive live history. Once the new single lands on white vinyl, the band will head out on a UK tour with Palaye Royale in early November.
