Chappell Roan was amazed by how the crowd reacted to her set at a rock focused festival in Mexico City.

The Pink Pony Club artist told her fans that she felt “quite nervous” about walking out at Corona Capital 2025 on Saturday night (15.11.25), especially since she was the only pop headliner on the bill.

Foo Fighters and Linkin Park also closed out the festival, with other acts including Queens Of The Stone Age, Deftones, Garbage and Weezer, and she was genuinely surprised by how strongly the audience connected with her performance.

Looking back at the night, Chappell wrote on Instagram on Monday (17.11.25), “I was quite nervous for Mexico City because I wasn’t sure if the crowd would vibe with me because it’s such a rock leaning festival and I was like, will ppl still like me if I’m pop? (sic)"

She went on to say, “But omg the crowd was so wonderful and I felt so loved and supported! So so sick I got to do this thank you for having me. I will continue practicing my Spanish every day. ¡Gracias! (sic)"

She added several photos from the show, including her custom Alexander McQueen “screaming banshee” outfit.

The Giver singer has been open about having a tough year while managing her mental health, and recently shared that she almost skipped a US tour until she remembered why she creates music, which is to “bring queer people joy and tell them that it’s OK.”

Opening up to the audience during her Pasadena concert last month, she said, “I wasn’t gonna do a US tour until the very last minute, I decided to do one, and I’m so glad I did. It’s so fun. This job is so awesome. Thank you for making it awesome.

“Everything made sense this year: Why I do this. Last year, I was really questioning, ‘Why am I doing this to myself? I’m so sad. I feel so left out in public. I feel so awkward all the time.’ And I always felt like, ‘Why am I putting myself through this? If this feels so, if this is taking so much away from me, what is this for?’”

She continued, “And then I started doing shows again, and it all made sense that it was to literally bring queer people joy and tell them that it’s OK.

“There’s so many things in the world that are so ‘f*** you’ and like, then there is this. The only thing that matters anymore is joy to me. And protecting that, and peace and safety.

“So I hope you know that when you are here, you are safe, and I want you here, you can be whoever you are tonight.”

Wrapping up her message to fans, Chappell said, “You’re cherished for everything that you are. Even if you’re not queer, I hope you know that I include you. This isn’t just for the gays.

“Thank you for being here and supporting me and supporting each other. This is the biggest headline show I’ve ever had. So thank you.”
