A$AP Rocky has confirmed that his long-awaited album Don't Be Dumb is officially slated to arrive later this year.

Danny Elfman, the iconic composer known for his ongoing work with Tim Burton, lent his creativity to several tracks on the project.

Speaking with Vanity Fair, Rocky shared, “Danny Elfman, he just did my album with me that I’m putting out this year. He scored a bunch of the songs on my new album.”

The 37-year-old artist – whose real name is Rakim Mayers – previously mentioned that the legendary filmmaker Burton has already heard the project and unexpectedly became a fan.

He told Billboard, “I sat and I played the album for Tim Burton, and he was f****** with it heavy, he was rocking his head and he’s like, ‘Wow! I didn’t know you made that kind of music!’”

The two had been in touch because the Praise The Lord hitmaker hoped the Edward Scissorhands director could create the album artwork, though the collaboration ultimately didn’t come together.

The project brings together a wide mix of creators, with appearances expected from Tyler, The Creator, Metro Boomin, Madlib, Pharrell Williams, Swedish House Mafia, and Mike Dean.

The LP was originally scheduled to drop on August 30, 2024, but a handful of complications caused the release to be moved into 2025.

Some of the postponement came from dealing with “leaks and sample clearances”.

To date, listeners have been treated to the singles Tailor Swift, Highjack, Ruby Rosary, and Pray4DaGang.

Rocky’s most recent full-length release was 2018’s Testing.
