Award-Winning Songwriter Elodie Rêverie Releases “Casa I Don’t Know,” a Dreamy, Emotional Escape

LOS ANGELES - Authentic and genuine are two words used loosely to describe artists. For Elodie Rêverie, those two words are the foundation of every sultry lyric she sings, which flows to perfection in her dreamlike and emotional melodies.

Identifying first and foremost as a songwriter, Elodie Rêverie takes great pride in creating timeless lyrics that evoke emotions. “I hope people feel less alone and can contemplate my music. ‘Casa I Don’t Know’ is about escapism and not knowing where you want to go. We think the grass is always greener,” she said.

“Casa I Don’t Know” has been deemed a melancholy song, but Rêverie is quick to clarify that every listener interprets it for themselves. “The song just came out of me, but it is a little autobiographical,” said the classically trained pianist.

The song was written seven years ago before Rêverie began pursuing her music career. Thankfully for fans, on Feb. 4, she will officially release it on all streaming platforms.

“Casa I Don’t Know” is just the third song for Rêverie’s discography, but the number of tracks does not matter for the New York native. She is focused on writing and producing quality music - not quantity. Intimately personal songwriting has gained her high praise in the industry. Coupled with her sultry voice that hammers every beat and flows into soft melodies, the nuances in her voice are ethereal and dreamlike.

With a goal to score music for television and film, Rêverie asks herself if the song she writes is worthy of being part of a movie or TV show. She won the 2020 California Music Video Award for Best Lyrics and Verse for the single “Under the Radar,” proving that she has the writing chops to be recognized as one of the best.

“I write a lot about the American dream and regions of the U.S. Much of my music, including ‘Casa I Don’t Know,’ is about wanting more. And the more you want, the more you can’t get. There comes a point where you don’t know what you want,” she explained.

While the accolades continue to pile up, Rêverie is focused on songwriting but don’t sleep on her self-reliant performance style. Gaining more wisdom each day, she translates those independent feelings of strength and empowerment into every song. She is a force to be reckoned with - she writes, performs, and produces her music. Able to adapt to various genres, she creates her beats and plays her own instruments.
