.” Set for a January 5, 2024 release, the single continues the concept of dedication from King Fatai’s last single, “Real Slick.”
Heartfelt and inspirational, “Double Dedication” overcomes the challenges and struggles of life and reminds us to keep going, no matter how hard things get.
The backbone of “Double Dedication” comes from King Fatai’s previous single, “Real Slick.” King Fatai demonstrates the power of perseverance through song and the accompanying video for “Real Slick.” “It’s about getting to that point of the journey where I didn’t stop, didn’t quit, even when I struggled,” explains the artist. “It’s going through those moments when you get discouraged. Others don’t see the journey you wanted, but you don’t worry—you just trust God, the plan, and the process. It’s about going hard and never quitting or stopping—no matter what it takes to make it happen. We never quit, no matter what storms we face. We never quit until we reach our destination.”
While “Real Slick” sets the groundwork, “Double Dedication” is about building upward. “Once you get to the point of not quitting,” shares King Fatai. “It’s about the next level, elevating to double dedication.”
“I’m grateful that God had blessed me with these valuable lessons that showed me how to conquer my fears and work towards being the greatest version of myself,” shares Fatai. “That’s double dedication, and I believe that’s the beautiful of life and the journey—to be challenged to be the greatest version of yourself, not what the world expects you to be. That’s why I’m double dedicated, because I’ve realized how important it is to be prepared for whatever it is we want in life.”
Finding the purpose to go the extra mile came to King Fatai as a result of a journey he undertook to strengthen his mind, body, and spirit. “Everyone can work hard, but to work hard and smart and go the extra mile, you have to put everything in. When all is said and done, I want to be proud of what I’m doing and the person I’m becoming. When you master your mind and spirit, all else falls in line.”
King Fatai is a multitalented artist, poet, writer, author, performer, and entrepreneur. From in Jersey City, New Jersey, and now residing in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, he is the published author of A Secondary King, a book of life through poetry. King Fatai’s first love was actually basketball. As a child, he dreamt of playing with the NBA. It wasn’t until he attended college at Penn State that he began writing poems and went on to release music in 2017.
King Fatai isn’t afraid of a challenge. In fact, he’s learned to maneuver the ins and outs of being an independent artist, from songwriting to marketing. “I’m dedicated times two,” adds the artist. “You have to put the effort in to see the results.”
When King Fatai received the beat for “Double Dedication,” the concept was already in his heart, waiting to pour out. “Once I heard the beat, I started to write,” shares the artist. “I was going through a lot of things at the time. I needed to go hard, no matter what and dedicate myself. I wrote it all from the heart—my blood, sweat, and tears.” The meaning aligned so easily to the song that King Fatai knew it spoke the truth he wanted to share. Rock & Roll elements were added for the emotion of feeling like you’ve won a championship.
“Everything I’m doing is with purpose,” shares King Fatai. “I’m a person who has been through struggles that would make most people quit. Patience got me to where I am at this point. Every setback made it all worth it. When you go through things, it prepares you for what you want. Stay faithful, patient, and dance in the storm instead of crying in the rain.”
Up next for the artist is the release of an R&B-inspired single, “My Best,” which is one for the ladies. “It’s about a man becoming the best version of himself to be the best version for that woman he’s pursuing. It’s about understanding what it takes to be that man—where you’re at and where you want to be and what it takes to get there,” adds King Fatai. He hopes to inspire others to be the best version of themselves through his upcoming single. He also looks forward to releasing a full project, It Was All Worth It, in spring of 2024.
