Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion has announced her third studio album, ‘MEGAN’.
Today (June 3), the ‘Boa’ rapper took to social media to break the news, sharing the cover of the record. ‘MEGAN’ is due for release on June 28 via her independent label Hot Girl Productions.
It will mark her first album since her split with her former label 300 Entertainment. While the album’s track list has yet to be revealed, it has been preceded by three singles so far: ‘Cobra’, ‘Hiss’ and ‘Boa’. The album cover for ‘MEGAN’ sees the rapper emerging from a cocoon in a lab.
Eminem rapped: “If I was to ask for Megan Thee Stallion if she would collab with me / Would I really have a shot at a feat?”
This past week, Megan’s attorneys responded to the “sensationalist” work harassment lawsuit filed against her last month. Back in April, cameraman Emilio Garcia accused Pete and her management Roc Nation of harassment and creating a hostile work environment.
He claimed that the Houston rapper had sex in a car in front of him while touring in Spain in 2022 and made “sexual and fat-shaming comments” towards him. Garcia added that he believes Thee Stallion and Roc Nation later retaliated against him by reducing his work and eventually terminating him.
Megan Thee Stallion is also due to tour the UK and Europe in July. Tickets are now on sale.
Megan The Stallion’s 2022 album ‘Traumazine’ scored a four-star review, for which NME‘s Kyann-Sian Williams wrote: “After ‘Traumazine’’s 18 tracks, there should be only one feeling coursing through your body: utter elation. The album features more deep cuts than you’d expect from a Megan Thee Stallion record, but it shows just how she’s pushed her pen since ‘Good News’, while also illustrating her broad musicality. Although Megan Thee Stallion is only just settling into her throne as one of hip-hop’s elite, she’ll clearly leave a lasting impression on rap music forever.”
