On a spontaneous trip to New York City, Natalie Yagu launched her songwriting career, and shortly after she crafted her debut single “Love Me Then.”

This alt-pop/rock track showcases a unique blend of powerful rock guitar, infectious rhythms and her soulful, hard-edged voice, making it an unforgettable introduction to her musical journey.

Though she has always been a private person, Natalie overcame her initial hesitation and found the courage to release her music.

“It feels vulnerable and deeply personal to me.”

Her creative path began in the world of theater. As an aspiring young actress, she was featured in musicals such as The Little Mermaid (where she played Flounder) and Annie (as Molly).

She even signed with an agency in Los Angeles and was poised to start filming on her first pilot. But, as life often does, things didn’t align, and she returned to her hometown of Miami.

“It just never really happened,” she reflects.

Despite her early love for singing and piano, it wasn’t until much later that she took the leap into songwriting.

“I’ve always loved to sing,” Natalie shares. “I never thought I’d write my own songs, but one day I heard a beat, started writing, and thought, ‘Wow, I can do this.’ I just kept going.”

This spark led to the creation of “Love Me Then,” a song that she describes as “a bittersweet anthem” about the emotions she was experiencing at the time. The lyrics reflect the highs and lows of relationships.

If you didn’t love me then
How could I love you now?
Don’t wanna see you again

“There’s no specific story behind the song,” she admits. “Sometimes, I just feel something in the moment and write it down. It’s all about what Im feeling.”

An artist in full control of her sound, Natalie writes her own music and lyrics, co-produces with her friend and mentor Claudia Lopez at C & C Production Studios and plans to continue pursuing her music independently.

She is also exploring other creative outlets, like photography and content creation on TikTok.

“Sometimes I write with piano, but other times I’ll just hear something in my head or start writing lyrics first,” Natalie explains. Each song is different, and I let the process unfold naturally.”

Currently, she is working on her debut album with several songs near completion. Natalie plans to release two more singles before unveiling the full album later this year.

Despite her initial hesitation, she is now eager to share her music with the world.

“I’m not looking for anything to gain,” she says. “But if my song can make someone’s day a little better, that would make me so happy.”

Putting her thoughts into words isn’t the easiest thing for Natalie to do.

“I definitely have to think about how to word things,” she reflects. Thats why I write songs. It’s my way of expressing myself when words alone don’t seem to work.”

“I’ve found something that makes me happy,” she says, “and now I’m ready to share it with the world.”

“Love Me Then” is an excellent alternative pop/rock song featuring a young singer/songwriter ready to be heard.
