The Grammy-winning artist announced a new single dubbed “Manchild,” out June 5, on her social media accounts early Tuesday morning. As she did with her mega hit “Espresso” for Coachella last year, Carpenter will likely give the song its live debut during her festival appearance at Primavera Sound in Barcelona on June 6.

She posted the album artwork, a snapshot from a teaser trailer she posted Monday, with the added caption, “This one’s about you!!” Also in her post, Carpenter shared the link to purchase a special 7-inch vinyl. The option to purchase reveals “Manchild” was produced by Jack Antonoff, and side B of the record is titled “inside of your head when you’ve just won an argument with a man.”

Carpenter began teasing “Manchild” on Monday with a teaser clip and multiple billboards that singled out possible lyrics like “Hey men!,” “Amen,” and “I swear they choose me, I’m not choosing them.”

In the 16-second teaser clip, Carpenter is seen wearing a short pair of denim cut-offs on the side of a dirt road, with her thumb up and a suitcase beside her. She attempts to hitchhike, but fails as both a truck and a car zoom past her.

This will be Carpenter’s first release following the success of “Short n’ Sweet,” which debuted at No. 1 in September, and its recent deluxe reissue that included such bonus songs as “Please Please Please (feat. Dolly Parton),” 15 Minutes,” “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder,” “Busy Woman” and “Bad Reviews.”
