Lewis Capaldi has revealed he experienced a "convulsing" episode backstage in Chicago.
The singer described the incident as "way worse" than the panic attack he recently described having at the 2023 Glastonbury Festival.
"A few weeks prior to (Glastonbury) we were playing in Chicago and I had a very similar episode - it was probably even worse," Lewis, 28, told Theo Von's This Week Past podcast.
"I couldn't come back and finish a song. I was backstage convulsing and having this crazy panic attack and mental episode. Way worse than what happened at Glastonbury."
The Someone You Loved artist explained his breakdown at Glastonbury marked a turning point.
"Because Glastonbury is such a big stage, it was the first time people outside my shows had seen it," he pointed out.
"In a weird way, it's probably the best thing that's ever happened to me. I wouldn't have stopped otherwise."
Lewis added he couldn't let himself contemplate how things may have gone had he not had his Glastonbury experience.
"I don't want to think of where I would be now if I'd continued," he said.
"We were meant to go to Australia. It could have been really, really horrible. I dread to think what would have happened."
