Taylor Swift has shared new information about her 12th studio album, The Life of A Showgirl.
After the album was first announced on Tuesday, the listing on Swift’s official website showed that the record would begin shipping on 13 October, leading many to believe the actual release date might be set a bit earlier.
Swift has now confirmed that the official release date will be 3 October.
“And baby, that’s show business for you,” she wrote on X. “New album, The Life of a Showgirl. Out 3 October. Producers: Max Martin, Shellback, and Taylor Swift.”
The album’s tracklist comprises 12 songs in total, featuring only one guest artist. Sabrina Carpenter will appear alongside Swift on the title track, which is also the closing song on the record.
Swift also introduced four special limited-edition deluxe versions of The Life of A Showgirl on CD, each featuring exclusive artwork, booklets, photocards, and other collectible items.
Rumors about a new album began circulating in May when Swift announced that she had officially regained ownership of her entire back catalog after purchasing her remaining masters from Shamrock Holdings.
Fans quickly noticed the line, “All the times I was thiiiiiiiiiiiis close, reaching out for it, only for it to fall through,” pointing out that she stretched the letter “i” exactly 12 times. Many took it as a clue, hinting toward a follow-up to her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.
