BH Review: Can you tell us about your journey into music and what inspired you to become an artist?

Rich Allen:
I began my musical journey at age 2.  My father was a musician and played in Las Vegas and Nashville.  I listened to old 78 vinyl that he recorded.  He taught me how to play the guitar and enrolled me in the Columbia Record of the month club.  This exposed me to Buck Owens, George Jones, Sonny James, Johnny Cash and many more.  This was the country foundation and story- telling that inspired my song writing style.

BH Review: How would you describe your unique sound and musical style?

Rich Allen:
My style is story telling with guitar hooks, bridges that fit the structure, vocal harmonies, and solos that enhance the song.  My style has been described as Country Soul.

BH Review: What themes or messages do you aim to convey through your music?

Rich Allen:
Stories about life and fun story's that are easy to follow and sing along.  I want to share positive messages that people can listen to and brings happiness to their day.

BH Review: Can you share the story behind your latest single "Innocent Kiss"?

Rich Allen:
While in Las Vegas overlooking the city I thought about how many people have had someone in their life that might have been an innocent kiss that could have developed into much more.  Ever look back at school days and wonder what if??  That inspired "Innocent Kiss"

BH Review: Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they shaped your work?

Rich Allen:
I have covered early influences in question #1, and to add to that list as I starting writing, huge influences would be Eagles, Vince Gill, and fun fact influence would be Junior Brown.

BH Review: What has been your most memorable performance or moment in your career so far?

Rich Allen:
Having my son on stage and playing "Gift of Life", written for him when he was born is a moment I will treasure forever.  Playing in front of 5K people as we showcased major artists was surreal and gave me a taste of big stage.  Huge moment to be on TV and radio listening to your original music.

BH Review: How do you approach the creative process when writing and producing your music?

Rich Allen:
I allow myself to be in my music room with no distractions. Only my guitar and my thoughts. A song both music and lyrics need to speak to me at the same time which usually only take 20-30 minutes to compose.

BH Review: What challenges have you faced as an artist, and how did you overcome them?

Rich Allen:
Getting music heard so people can be part of my music experience. I overcome that challenge by never quitting on my music and push to share on different music platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and You Tube music.

BH Review: Are there any collaborations or projects you're currently working on that you're excited about?

Rich Allen:
I have a XMAS track I'm working on to release during the holiday that is a good challenge since so much music has been written and recorded. I need to bring something different that has my style and story.

BH Review: What advice would you give to aspiring musicians trying to break into the industry?

Rich Allen:
Never give up, always stay true to yourself and make your own music. Write from your soul and share that experience never write to please the masses as it won't be authentic.
