The Rolling Stones have once again brought Andrew Watt back to produce their upcoming album.

The acclaimed producer handled the band’s 2023 record Hackney Diamonds and eagerly accepted the chance to work with the Start Me Up legends again.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, he shared, “I’ve said it before, but it’s like working for Batman.”

Watt added, “When the tongue is up in the air, you just go… I can say we did some recording together, but that’s all I can say.”

Marlon Richards, the son of guitarist Keith Richards, recently confirmed that the group has a new album on the way.

Watt had earlier revealed that there was leftover material from the Hackney Diamonds sessions.

Back in February, he told the outlet, “It would be great. It was a prolific time for the band. They had built up, like, 18 years of material. There was so much to sort through at first, and then new songs just came because everyone was rolling and flying.”

In the Rolling Stones edition of Record Collector magazine, actor and producer Marlon explained, “They’re in town right now, recording. They’re in Chiswick [West London] or somewhere near there; I think they’re almost finished. They still keep these wild hours: after lunch until around two in the morning. I’d rather be somewhere else at that time of night! Unless you’re part of it, it’s pretty boring.”

When asked directly what the band was working on, he answered, “I guess an album – they still have enough left over from the last one.”

The Brown Sugar icons recently took home Best Rock Album at the Grammy Awards, and Marlon said that the recognition gave them a new boost of energy.

He shared, “They gave them a Grammy, so now they’re all excited: ‘Oh, yeah – we can do another one like that! We’ve got more like that if you want…’. I think they’re working on the follow-up.”

He also confirmed that the group is planning to return to the stage next year.

Marlon said, “I think they’re planning a tour of Europe.”
