JoJo Siwa Opens Up About The Intense Pain That Sent Her To The Hospital

JoJo Siwa shared that she was taken to the hospital for a short time before her Minnesota show on Friday after experiencing what she described as “excruciating” stomach pain.

In a TikTok update posted Saturday, the singer explained what happened only a few hours before she was scheduled to appear at the Mall of America.

“So basically, for the last few days, anytime I would dance or even just walk or do anything, my stomach would start hurting really, really badly,” Siwa said.

“I had no idea what was going on, but then it eased up, so I figured, ‘Maybe it is that time of the month, maybe it is just a cramp, I really do not know.’”

She tried to ease the discomfort by getting into a warm bath, but that only made things worse. “That made it a hundred times more painful,” Siwa said, noting that her mother eventually told her to call for an ambulance.

When paramedics checked her, her vitals looked “normal,” but a later visit to the hospital revealed the actual cause of her pain. “One of my ovaries had a cyst that ruptured and was bleeding into my stomach,” Siwa said.

“So that is what was creating the severe pain, because anytime the blood moves around your stomach, that is the irritation inside the stomach,” she explained. “It becomes extremely painful, and basically, it should handle itself. It should stop bleeding on its own.”

With the help of pain medicine, Siwa was still able to perform at the Mall of America, although she must return for another evaluation in a week.

“We are going to keep moving forward, and if I throw up or if that intense pain hits me again, I need to go straight back in, but everything should be fine,” Siwa said.
