As online chatter sparked by Ashley Tisdale’s essay about a “toxic” mom group continues to ripple through certain corners of the internet, Hilary Duff appears unfazed. Even after her husband Matthew Koma weighed in and added fuel to the situation, the singer seems focused elsewhere.

On Wednesday, Duff shifted attention back to her music by building excitement for her next album and teasing a new song that leans into messy emotions. The lyrics touch on dive bar flings, awkward living situations, and a once intense relationship that slowly fades.

“I only want the beginning, I don’t want the end/I want the part where you say goddamn/Back of a dive bar giving you head/Then sneak home late, wake up your roommates,” Duff sings in a video shared on social media. “I want the highlights, 10 out of 10/The butterflies from holding your hand/Before we swept us under the bed/And we became practically roommates/I’m touching myself by the front door/But you don’t even look my way no more.”

The singer and actress is preparing to release her first album in over a decade, titled Luck… or Something, which arrives Feb. 20. She recently dropped the lead single “Mature” in November, marking her first solo release since 2015’s Breathe In. Breathe Out., an album produced by Koma.

Duff is also gearing up for live shows, with her sold out four date Small Rooms, Big Nerves 2026 tour kicking off Jan. 19 at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London. The run will continue with a Valentine’s Day weekend residency at the Venetian Resort’s Voltaire venue in Las Vegas.

As listeners wait for more details about the teased track, including its title and release date, Duff has also found herself pulled into the ongoing discussion surrounding fellow Disney Channel alum Tisdale. Last week, Tisdale published an essay in The Cut describing her decision to walk away from a mom group after feeling excluded and transported back to high school dynamics, minus the music.

Although Tisdale did not identify anyone involved, internet speculation quickly pointed to possible members including Mandy Moore, Meghan Trainor, and Duff. Shortly after, Koma shared an Instagram Story recreating Tisdale’s image from the essay, complete with a mock headline reading, “When You’re The Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers.” He added a subheading, “A Mom Group Tell All Through A Father’s Eyes,” alongside the caption, “Read my new interview with @TheCut.”

So far, none of the rumored members of Tisdale’s former mom circle have addressed the situation directly. Koma, however, reposted Duff’s music teaser and summed up his support in three emphatic words: “Let’s. Fucking. Gooooo.”
