Mel C urges Spice Girls to mark their 30th anniversary

Melanie C believes the Spice Girls need to mark their 30th anniversary in 2026 and feels the moment is finally approaching to do something meaningful together.

The singer, now aged 52, rose to global fame as part of the legendary girl group alongside Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell Horner and Victoria Beckham, and she has said discussions around celebrating the milestone feel more realistic than ever before.

Speaking during an appearance on The Rebecca Judd Show on Apple Music 1, she explained: "Okay, we're closer in that Emma's rooting for it too!

"You know what, I'm not going to throw anybody under the bus. We all are so proud, of course we are, of our legacy. It's amazing.

"And it is 30 years and we do have to celebrate that in some way this year. I'm always optimistic."

The Wannabe hitmakers last appeared together as a full five piece at the London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony. They later returned to the stage in 2019 without fashion designer Victoria, who chose to focus on her family life and business commitments.

Melanie C went on to say that she and Mel B have been the driving force behind potential anniversary plans, while admitting the group feels a shared anxiety about getting things right.

She continued: "I think me and Mel B are the cheerleaders and Emma's totally with us, but we all love it so much.

"I think it's so precious to us. We're frightened to do it the wrong way. Do you know what I mean?

"So it's like we're still working, we're always talking, lines of communication are open and we are just waiting until we all decide on exactly the best way to do it."

Back in September last year, Victoria, often known as Posh Spice, sparked fresh reunion talk after attending the Oasis Live '25 tour show at Wembley Stadium with her husband David Beckham and their children Romeo Beckham, 23, Cruz Beckham, 20, and 14 year old Harper Beckham.

Sharing a clip from the night, she simply wrote: “Tempting,” while tagging her former bandmates.
