International musician and funk sensation Manu Chevalier brings a new beat to the dancefloor with his single, “I’m alright (feat. Lumina B).” The French musician and songwriter blends funk, soul, jazz, reggae, and pop for a captivating sound with worldwide appeal.

With influences that span continents and genres, Manu Chevalier has established himself as an artist whose music connects deeply with listeners while bringing a fresh international flavor to today’s music scene. But before the accolades and international education, Manu Chevalier was a young boy with boundless passion.

Manu Chevalier’s fondness for music started at a young age. What began as lessons in music theory and drums snowballed into learning instruments and diving into his sisters’ music catalogues. From French music to the Beatles, Stevie Wonder to Steely Dan, Jazz to Brazilian music, Manu Chevalier devoured it all with the hunger of a young musician in the making. Manu Chevalier’s ear for music was evident in his ability to hear a melody and transcribe it correctly, then make new melodies inspired by the original.

It wasn’t until adulthood that Manu began playing the saxophone. He first studied with a private teacher, then began finding other musicians to learn with and grow from while exploring the standards and learning Bossa Nova. After spending one year in Germany, where he improved his composition skills, Manu continued to work on his craft by taking singing lessons and writing lyrics—all while continuing to play with some live bands to grow his skills and confidence.

Known for his dynamic versatility and rich musical influences, Manu Chevalier creates a sound that moves effortlessly between genres. His passion for music and dedication to artistic growth have led him to work and learn at The Songwriting Academy (www.thesongwritingacademy.co.uk) with an impressive roster of fellow artists and acclaimed mentors, including multi-platinum and Emmy Award-winning songwriters and producers such as Shelly Poole (Alisha’s Attic), Paul Statham (Dido, Kylie Minogue), Morris Pleasure (Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson),  and Jeff Franzel (Taylor Dayne, NSYNC).

Following the release of “Back to My Dream” in October 2024, Manu debuted his album, Manu Chevalier Presents Planet Groove From Marseille on April 11, 2025. Finding a good melody has never been difficult for Manu Chevalier. It’s putting the right words to his song that has been his biggest challenge. And Manu enjoys a challenge. “How can people relate to a song if they don’t understand the lyrics,” he explains. “The rule is to have simple lyrics with a great hook. Music brings the listeners, and the lyrics help them stay.”

“I'm alright (feat. Lumina B)” began as an exploration of “the Dua Lipa universe.” In creating the song, Manu hoped to achieve a lighthearted yet powerful production, complete with relatable imagery and an undeniable beat. The original version underwent several changes, from song title to vocalist. Ultimately, he connected with Lumina B, whose voice conveyed the emotion, depth, and energy he had been searching for.

Switching from acoustic to Midi (or synthetic) instruments, Manu Chevalier brought the single to life with a retro dance beat designed for mass appeal. “I want people to hear it and become engaged,” shares the artist. “It’s like the pop songs we love but a dance hit.”

Funky from the first note, "I'm alright" promises listeners a good time. Lumina B's voice journeys through a story both familiar and fresh, set to the background of proper disco vibes. It’s nearly impossible to sit still without boogeying, so listeners are encouraged to bust out their best dance moves while enjoying the song.

"I'm alright (feat. Lumina B)” is available on all streaming platforms, with promotional support from Starlight PR.
