Welcome to SOUND ADVICE, Interview’s home for playlists assembled by the people we admire, challenge, and adore. Our latest editions have included selections from Eera, Eli, and Petra Collins. For this week’s feature, Cannelle takes control of the music. The Marseille native now living in LA has been filling clubs around the globe with her bilingual electropop style. Influenced by the French dance rhythms of Daft Punk and DJ Mehdi, along with the soft colored world of Tumblr moodboards, her music brings rave energy together with playful pop. After finally sharing her first mixtape, CINNA, and performing a packed concert at Market Hotel in Bushwick, Cannelle created a collection of her essential summer tracks and dance floor favorites. Her choices range from celebrated artists such as Madonna and Solange to emerging electronic acts including B0YG1RL and MGNA Crrrta. She also answered our questionnaire, sharing the artists she hopes to work with, the musical preferences she considers warning signs, and her favorite place to continue the night after the party ends.
