Ticketmaster is taking action to address the ticket mess surrounding Olivia Rodrigo’s The Unraveled Tour, revealing that it has cancelled tickets purchased by scalpers and is now making those seats available to fans again at face value.
According to the company, the tickets were obtained in violation of the sale rules and are now being offered again at the original prices established for the tour.
Fans who were unable to secure tickets during the initial sale will be given priority. The request period ends Friday (21.08.26) at 11.59pm ET, with Ticketmaster encouraging interested fans to complete their requests before the cutoff. The company says the initiative is intended to give real fans another opportunity after facing widespread frustration over soaring resale prices.
In a lengthy social media statement, Ticketmaster described the recovered seats as tickets from purchases “that broke the rules of the sales and are being released directly back to fans, at the original prices set by the tour.” The company also provided instructions on how fans can apply, while making clear that submitting a request does not mean tickets are guaranteed.
Fans will need to select the concerts they want to attend, provide their payment details, and send one request. A temporary $1 authorization may appear on a fan’s card and will be reversed if the request is not successful. Those chosen for tickets will be charged automatically after the request period ends. Ticketmaster will send a confirmation message after the request is submitted, although fans are warned that the email could take some time to arrive.
Fans who are selected will be notified of their status on Friday, August 28. People who are not chosen will not receive an email, but they can still view their results through the “My Request” section.
The ticket request comes with several restrictions. Fans can ask for as many as four tickets for each event and can select up to two events per country, with a maximum of four shows across the U.S. and Canada. Each account is limited to one request. Multiple submissions or the use of several accounts will lead to cancellation. Fans must also ensure their payment details are valid because a declined payment card will invalidate the request.
In addition to the recovered seats, fans will have another chance to get affordable tickets through the $25 “Silver Star” option, with requests opening September 1 at 3.00pm EST.
Every ticket made available through the programme will remain at the original tour price. Ticketmaster says the move is intended to give fans a fairer chance following the widespread scalping issues. Requests are currently open through Ticketmaster.
