CMAT "crawled up in a ball" after her Glastonbury performance because she was in "pure shock".
The 29-year-old Irish hitmaker performed on the Pyramid Stage at the iconic British festival for the first time in June, and it took her a while to recover.
In a conversation with Interview Magazine this month, CMAT, real name Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, explained that she needed some time alone after her big performance.
"When I walked off the Pyramid Stage, I walked behind a sofa and collapsed and hid away," she admitted. "It was this weird instinct."
The Take a Sexy Picture of Me singer continued, "I crawled up in a ball and closed the door and told everyone to not come in, because I just wanted to be really small and have no one see me for a while."
When asked if it was a "nice feeling", CMAT confessed, "I wouldn't say it was a nice feeling."
"I would just say it was pure shock," she continued candidly. "When I was on the stage, I loved it. And then I came off and I was like, 'What am I doing? Why did I do that?' (Laughs) It was very scary."
Reflecting on the scale of the festival, CMAT said, "It was huge. There is nothing bigger. I suppose the wheels are set in motion for something like this from the beginning of your career."
CMAT previously performed at the festival on the Woodsies stage in 2023.
