If you’re a fan of Young Thug and everything he stands for, then 1300SAINT is someone you’ll want to pay attention to. He’s one of the newest additions to Thugger’s YSL Records and part of the creative resurgence the label has been experiencing lately. Things are buzzing at the Atlanta-based imprint, and it seems like Young Thug is even considering a compilation tape.

Earlier this month, he tweeted, “young kids putting in work think I need to do a YSL YN tape.” Hopefully, that project becomes a reality soon. What’s clear is that Thug is giving his younger artists the freedom to experiment and push their visions, especially now with reports that Gunna may be stepping away.

1300SAINT is a name you’re going to see everywhere moving forward, not just here but across almost every major hip-hop platform. His sound is influenced by Georgia’s new wave of rappers, many of whom modeled themselves after Young Thug in some way.

He’s already shown his admiration for the YSL leader in his growing catalog, right down to the cover art for his 2025 EP SAINT SEASON. That influence is also present on his latest project, NewDrug, especially in the closing track “Pray2TheLord.”

On that song, 1300SAINT makes a smart nod to Thug by sampling JEFFERY’s classic “Guwop,” which originally featured Quavo, Offset, and the late Young Scooter. But what sets him apart from simply imitating Thug is his stronger emphasis on melody and atmospheric vibes.

NewDrug. Kicks off with a beautiful piano-led trap beat that balances perfectly with lyrics about his player lifestyle. Throughout the project, 1300SAINT shows flashes of real star power, making it clear he’s an artist to watch closely as he continues to rise.
