Gem Archer Teases Uncertainty Over Oasis’ Next Move

Oasis guitarist Gem Archer has said that “anything could happen” when it comes to the band’s future.

The Britpop icons reunited in July for their first tour in 16 years, titled Oasis Live ’25, and after the run concluded in São Paulo, Brazil, last month, Gem has spoken about what may or may not come next for the Supersonic hitmakers.

Reflecting on the scale of the reunion shows, he told Guitar World: “It’s the weirdest thing.

“It’s all a blur. We’ve all said that we won’t know what this was ’till next year. When all the wheels stop spinning, you know, there’s just so much to take on board. It really was a bit of a whirlwind, you know?”

The guitarist admitted he has little clarity about the band’s direction, explaining that he does not know “anything about what’s coming up”.

While he does not think plans are currently in motion, Gem revealed that Noel has hinted it may not be the final chapter.

When asked about what could be next, he said: “Anything could happen, which could include nothing. But this was quite a thing… if stuff was happening, I think I might already know about it, if you know what I mean? It’s not something you just flick on.”

Speaking further about his exchange with the band’s lead guitarist, he added: “Noel has said, ‘No rest for the immensely talented,’ so take that how you want.”

Gem’s comments follow remarks from frontman Liam Gallagher, who recently suggested that no further touring is planned for 2026.

The singer claimed there will be “nothing going on next year” for the Don’t Look Back in Anger group.

Liam was prompted by a fan on X who wrote: “announce the 2026 dates mate”

He responded: “We’re not doing anything in 2026 sorry (sic)”

Liam, who like Noel is a devoted Manchester City supporter, said the only major focus in 2026 will be the football World Cup.

He added: “Nothing going on next year except the WC. ITS (sic) NOT HAPPENING. (sic)”

Last month, Oasis announced they would be entering a “period of reflection” following the end of their comeback tour.

In a statement shared on Instagram, they wrote: “And so it came to pass.

“The most damaging pop cultural force in recent British history’ found its way into the hearts and minds of a new generation. From Gallagher Hill to the River Plate, from Croke Park on the banks of the Royal Canal to the City Of Angels, the love, joy, tears and euphoria will never be forgotten.

“There will now be a pause for a period of reflection. Oasis”

It has since been reported that the band may be considering a potential greatest hits release, or possibly more live shows at a later date.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Noel and Liam will both be taking a long break to compute the magnitude of this tour.

“Being back together on stage has been incredible for both of them, and to have guitarist Bonehead back with them for the last shows has been nothing short of phenomenal.

“They’re aware of what their fans want and know the demand would be there if they did decide to put out a new greatest hits album or to play more shows.”

Oasis are also said to have been approached with offers to perform at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Coachella in the United States, and Benicassim in Spain.
