Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit has spoken out against ICE and told supporters of Donald Trump to unfollow him on social media.

Earlier this month, the guitarist shared a blunt message on Instagram, writing: “If any of my followers voted or support Trump or are still friends with anyone who supports the Trump administration, you’re out. Fuck you. Never contact me again.”

The post drew widespread backlash, and on Saturday February 7 he returned to Instagram with a follow up statement that doubled down on his original position while also striking a conciliatory tone.

“I guess if you’re mad at me say whatever you want to here,” he wrote. “I just want everyone to be happy. Fuck Trump. Fuck ICE.”

He went on to add: “Democrats are without leadership except Bernie. Love AOC. So call me a Libtard here. Hail Satan. It’s also my birthday so you can wish me a happy birthday if you want.”

In a further update shared to his Instagram Stories, Borland addressed the reaction directly, writing: “Y’all hating me for not wanting hatred in the world is wild. Fine, keep voting against your best interest and telling me: stick to playing guitar. Never heard that one before.”

Borland is one of several figures from across the entertainment world to voice criticism of Trump and ICE in recent weeks. Bad Bunny delivered a pointed speech while accepting Album of the Year at the Grammys, saying: “We are not savage, we are not animals, we are not aliens, we are humans and we are Americans.”

Billie Eilish also used the Grammys stage to say “fuck ICE”, later receiving public support from actors and musicians including Mark Ruffalo and Finneas after facing backlash.

Green Day told ICE agents to “quit their shitty ass job” during a pre Super Bowl warm up show in San Francisco last week, while Bruce Springsteen criticised ICE’s recent actions in Minneapolis with a new song titled ‘Streets Of Minneapolis’.

He premiered the track at a benefit concert hosted by Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, who also delivered a passionate speech in support of protesters in Minneapolis and beyond.

Elsewhere, Jack White has continued to speak out against Trump, recently calling for him to be removed from office after a racist meme was shared on Truth Social, while Lady Gaga paused a concert in Tokyo last week to condemn ICE and urge “mercy”.
