Shila Hasanoff, the former partner of Ray J, is speaking publicly about a recent domestic incident that led police to the singer’s home in the Los Angeles area. She shared her side of the story while addressing the speculation that quickly spread online after the situation.
During an emotional Instagram Live, Hasanoff said she wanted to clear up what she believes has been widely misrepresented. She stated that Ray J did not physically hurt her at any point, despite early reports connected to a domestic violence call made earlier that day.
Hasanoff said the situation intensified as she tried to prevent Ray J from potentially hurting himself. She explained that things became emotional in the moment and admitted that she struck him while attempting to intervene.
“That night I was trying to stop him from jumping off the ledge,” she said in the video. “I let my emotions get the best of me.”
Authorities were called to the home after receiving a report involving a domestic battery situation, but according to sources, neither Hasanoff nor Ray J chose to cooperate with officers when they arrived. Because of that, no one was taken into custody and the case was closed without any further steps.
Ray J's Ex Speaks Out
Ray J later gave his own statement, telling TMZ that he is currently in a stable place and not dealing with suicidal thoughts. "I’m feeling good right now. I’m not suicidal at this moment. I don’t need to call a hotline. I’m perfectly stable," he said.
He confirmed that he was the one who contacted 911 and claimed that Hasanoff became confrontational during their argument, following him as he tried to step away. He also said the incident affected him physically, stating that the slap was strong enough to loosen one of his teeth.
Even with the heated situation, Ray J said they are now on good terms and described Hasanoff’s apology as genuine.
Hasanoff also mentioned that Ray J has been under heavy personal pressure, including legal issues involving members of the Kardashian family, specifically Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner.
Although the situation raised concern online, both sides now seem focused on moving forward. Hasanoff repeated that Ray J has never been violent toward her and described the incident as an emotional moment that got out of control rather than an example of abuse.
