Taylor Swift Gifts Guitar to Eight-Year-Old Fan Following Viral Moment

Taylor Swift surprised a young fan with a special gift after a wholesome TikTok video captured hearts across social media.

The global pop star received praise after sending an eight year old fan a signed guitar along with a handwritten letter once the viral clip began making the rounds online.

Back in April, a young girl from Ohio named Madeline heard her neighbour outside playing guitar and singing in his backyard, and decided to ask him to perform one of Taylor’s songs.

Instead of simply calling out to him, Madeline wrote her request on a paper airplane and tossed it over the fence into the neighbour’s yard.

The neighbour, 26 year old Ethan Hayes, picked up the note and responded by singing Taylor’s 2008 hit “Love Story” while playing guitar, as Madeline’s mother filmed the sweet exchange.

After the video was posted online, it quickly exploded on TikTok and earned close to four million views. One of the people who ended up seeing the clip was the “Bad Blood” singer herself.

Touched by the moment, Taylor sent Madeline a signed guitar along with a personal handwritten message. Ethan was also gifted a guitar from the Grammy winning artist.

In the letter, which was later shared by People, Taylor said the video gave her the “biggest smile”.

“I just wanted to let you know that it made me so happy that you asked your neighbour to play my song for you,” she wrote. “You brought the biggest smile to my face!”

The “Cruel Summer” star added, “I'm sending you your own guitar in case you ever want to learn too! Thanks again! And sending you my love.”

Speaking with the publication, Ethan shared that Taylor’s team reached out to him directly after the clip started gaining traction online.

“They're like, ‘Hey, Taylor saw your video. We want to send you something. Don't tell anyone until it gets there,’” he recalled. “I was expecting maybe a signed poster or something. And then she sent us guitars, which is insane.”
