Kid Rock Calls His Friendship With Donald Trump "A Front Row Seat to the Greatest Shit Show on Earth"

Kid Rock has opened up about his friendship with Donald Trump, calling it “fucking awesome” and saying it gives him “a front row seat to the greatest shit show on Earth.”

The singer, whose real name is Bob Ritchie, has been an outspoken supporter of the President for years. He has performed at several Republican events and has also appeared at the White House, as well as joining Trump at NFL games and UFC events.

Most recently, Rock spoke with Sky News Australia, where he described his relationship with his “buddy” Trump as “fucking awesome.”

He explained that one of his favorite late night habits is calling Trump because he knows the president is usually awake. “He’s so gracious,” Rock said. “He always picks up. Or he’ll call and check in, just to shoot the shit most of the time. He’s not calling me to, like, ‘Hey, what should we do in Iran, Bob?’ I don’t get those calls.”

Rock continued: “I was sitting around having some beers. It’s, like, 11:00, 12:00 on a Friday or Saturday. I know he’s up. He sleeps like me. He sleeps like five hours. And I’ll be, like, ‘Hey, let’s call the President and bullshit.’ And people will be, like, ‘What?’ And he’ll be, like, ‘Hey, Bob, what’s up?’ And blah, blah, blah. It’s the best.”

He added, “I enjoy the hell out of hanging out with him and talking with him and just having a front row seat to the greatest shit show on Earth.”

Rock also defended Trump against his critics, saying he believes the president is committed to putting America first. “I know his heart and soul, his concern is for this country. Period,” he said. “This country first. And I think every leader in any country should be that for their country.”

Earlier this year, Kid Rock headlined Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show,” which was promoted as a conservative alternative to the official Super Bowl halftime performance led by Bad Bunny. However, footage from Trump’s own Super Bowl party appeared to show guests watching Bad Bunny’s halftime show instead of Rock’s competing broadcast.

Following the performance, Kid Rock denied accusations that he had been lip syncing, insisting he had only been “out of sync” with the DJ.

Reports published last year also claimed that Trump called Rock to ask whether the Secret Service had prohibited him from using strippers during a victory rally held before the inauguration.

Rock also met with Trump’s Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi toward the end of 2024, saying the pair intended to “open a can of whoop ass” on the concert ticketing industry.

The musician previously took the stage at the 2024 Republican National Convention, performing “American Bad Ass” with rewritten lyrics in support of Trump. He also participated in events surrounding Trump’s second inauguration in January 2025.
