As Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce celebrate their wedding during the Fourth of July weekend, the couple has also given dozens of charities a reason to celebrate.
Following Thursday's, July 2, announcement that the pop superstar and Kansas City Chiefs tight end donated a combined $26 million to charities across the United States, many of the organizations publicly expressed their appreciation. The Grammy Museum Foundation described the contribution as a “transformative gift” that would “help expand our mission of bringing music education to students across the country,” while New York Cares said it was “enchanted” by the couple’s generosity, adding, “Thank you for making our mission a part of your love story.”
Harvesters in Kansas City also shared its gratitude, writing, “We’d like to send a heartfelt thank you to @taylorswift and @killatrav for their very generous donation to our food bank just prior to their big wedding day. The two of them have incredibly big hearts and have shown up to support not only us but many charities over the years. We feel so lucky that they make the conscious effort to invest in hunger relief and the beautiful community we call Kansas City!”
Dolly Parton also thanked the couple in a video shared on Instagram after learning they had donated $2 million to her Imagination Library, which provides free books to children. “It’s evident that you two have made giving back a key part of your lives,” she said in her heartfelt message.
Those responses are only a few of the many messages of appreciation shared by the charities chosen to receive support from Swift and Kelce before their wedding. Earlier on Thursday, a representative for the 14 time Grammy Award winner released the full list of organizations benefiting from the donation. Many of the selected charities are located in places that have special meaning to the couple, including Reading, Pennsylvania, and Cleveland, their hometowns, as well as Nashville and Kansas City, where they each established their careers.
The couple also directed donations to several organizations based in New York City, where they are expected to celebrate their wedding on Friday at Madison Square Garden.
